Nothing Fits Boots Like Experience The process of boot fitting is not particularly complicated, but there are a few basics that must be done to insure success. First, an analysis of the foot and skier to find a compatible boot is necessary. Then, you must stabilize the foot in order to minimize the potential for problems. Sounds simple, doesn't it? Well, it is and it isn't. (Visit the "Custom Boot Fitting" section at our websitewww.skinetsports.com) The foot is a mobile adaptor. It is, by nature, designed to change its’ shape to accommodate different needs...walking, running, leaping, landing, jumping, etc. Each foot has 26 bones and two other little guys called sesamoids, a mass of ligaments and tendons, veins and nerve endings that send all kinds of messages...mostly negative. So, now we have two feet (52 bones) standing on approximately 1 square foot of snow, responsible for keeping a 5 - 6 ft. tall lever (you), weighing 100-200 lbs., in balance. And of course all this mass...the skier...is traveling at between 15-50 mph. A big responsibility for two such small feet and so many little bones. At Ski Net Sports our philosophy is everyone needs custom bootfitting because "Nobody has feet quite like yours!" A proper boot fit, addressing all biomechanical and alignment issues, requires about two hours. All bootfitting is by appointment only, and your satisfaction is absolutely and unconditionally guaranteed. Claude Swonger |
